Sheltered Homes Service

As many of you are aware, we help with the services held in the sheltered/residential homes in Penicuik. You would be very welcome to come along and join in the worship, as well as taking a few minutes to speak to some of the residents, who greatly enjoy meeting new people. You may even feel you could offer to lead a service. Further details from Joyce Maclean (677714).

Wedding Preparation Classes

Whether you are involved with the church or not, you may want to consider these classes before the big day. Please speak to our minister, Ian Cathcart on 01968 674692 for further details.

Celebrate Recovery

This is a Christ-centred recovery programme which endeavours to help people in the area who are suffering with addiction or emotional issues. The programme began in the US in the early 90's and in 2001 was adopted by Penicuik South Church to meet the needs of local people. In 2008 the programme moved out from under the Penicuik South Church umbrella and is now non-denominational. There is a meeting every Tuesday between 6:30pm and 9:00pm at the YMCA/YWCA at Queensway, Penicuik. Please contact Robert Burns on 01968 670174 or 07926 091328 for more details. Details can also be found at www.celebraterecovery.co.uk.

Puppets of Penicuik

This is a youth and children's outreach ministry on behalf of the local Church of Scotland Presbytery (all the Church of Scotland churches in the area) and involves the use of a variety of well-made and very funny puppets. If you are interested in developing puppet skills, please speak to Sheila Anderson (01968 678541).

Comfort Rwanda

We regularly host guest speakers from this charity and we also help to raise money for its work in Rwanda. Please see www.comfortrwanda.org.uk for more details.

Love Russia

We have had people from our congregation go to Russia to help with the work of this charity. Please see www.loverussia.plus.com for more details.
